Fresh Organic Gooseberries for sale. Floral Encounters

FROZEN EUROPEAN GOOSEBERRIES

We do still have some frozen gooseberries available. We can ship these during the winter months by next day air only or they start to melt. If you want to pick up from the farm (Central New Jersey) please contact us to arrange a time.

Gooseberries come in either:

TWO 1lb bags
$26.00 plus shipping
PACK STYLE 1
ONE 5lb bag
$65.00 plus shipping
PACK STYLE 2

Gooseberries come in either mostly pink or mostly green. Its going to depend on your taste. Pink gooseberries are milder and less tart, (I think less flavor). Green gooseberries are more tart and awesome for smoothies IF you like tart.

SHIPPING COSTS
We ship in insulated containers with frozen packs to keep the gooseberries cold BUT they do melt so we only ship next day air. Otherwise the may end up as a mushy puddle by time they reach you. We ship as customers own risk. We do our best to keep them cold and get them to you fast but its your risk if they get held over, there is a sudden heat wave or you are in a warm state.

PACK STYLE 1
$89.00
PACK STYLE 2
$114.00

Our site can't do fancy interactive shipping with UPS so we have to make estimates on shipping. These prices are what it would cost to ship to California from New Jersey. We thought the furthest point. If shipping to where ever you are is less we will refund the overcharges to you.

How do Gooseberries fair when frozen?
Gooseberries are unusual in that they don't suffer much from being frozen. They have a tougher skin (but not inedible) than most soft fruits which keeps the berry together so when they defrost they are pretty much the same as a fresh one. The taste and texture are the same and most people can't tell the difference.
The most popular way to use gooseberries is pureed, added to smoothies and desserts so having frozen ones makes no difference. However we would recommend that unless you have an industrial blender you allow the berries to defrost just slightly before putting them in to blend or it's like trying to blend steel ball bearings and the blender suffers.
